Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy is about the file shop only. It says what we hold when you browse the designs, fill the bag, and pay. It does not cover a separate engineering project you might start with us by email.

When you are only browsing

You can open product pages without an account. The bag, if you add a file and do not check out, stays in your browser on that device. We do not keep a copy of that unpaid bag on our server. If you clear the browser data, or use another device, the bag will be empty.

Like most sites, the shop may store a small cookie or similar record so the page remembers the bag and so checkout can finish. We do not use that to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell it.

When you pay

Checkout asks for the name and email you want the order tied to. The card payment is taken by our checkout provider. They receive the card details. We do not see or store the full card number or the security code. We do keep a record of the order: which files you bought, the amount, the date, and the email, so we can show the download and send the files again if you ask.

If a payment fails, the provider may still have a failed-attempt record on their side. We do not turn that into a customer account.

What we use the details for

We use the email to match you to the order and to reply if a download fails. We use the order list if you write about a missing file, a refund, or a cancellation. We use the payment record for our own accounts. We do not add you to a newsletter because you bought a file. If we ever send shop news, it will be because you asked for it, and you will be able to stop it.

Who else sees it

The checkout provider sees the payment. They do not receive the STL files. We do not pass your name or email to a courier, because the shop does not ship parcels. We do not sell or rent the customer list. If the law requires us to share a record with an authority, we will only share what that request covers.

How long we keep it

We keep the order and the email for as long as we need them to resend files, answer a complaint, and meet bookkeeping rules. That is longer than the week you might spend printing the design. If you want your contact details taken off the shop record, email us. We can remove the name and email from support notes. We may still have to keep the payment line in the accounts where the law says a business must.

Looking after it

Access to order records is limited to the people who run the shop. No setup is perfect. If we find that order emails have been exposed, we will tell the affected customers and say what we are doing about it.
